What is the recommended attire for this event?
Just wear your furry costume.
Is there a vegan dinner option?
Hi Matthew,
The attire woudl be ‘smart casual’. For gentlemen dress pants and shirt, but jacket optional and for ladies a casual dress.
Hi Courtney,
Vegan/Vegetarian option will be Stuffed Squash with home-made marinara sauce, san marzano tomatoes and roasted red peppers. We would need to know of any special dietary requests in advance. You can always e-mail me with those requests after reserving your seats.
Is this for real? Is this something people really want to hear about? How about just info on the animals, I’m not sure I want this guy giving animal love advice over dinner.
After-dinner music:
“You and me baby ain’t nothin but mammals so let’s do it like they do on the Discovery Channel.”
love this
We did this last year and had a wonderful time! A very nice event…we will be doing it again this year!
does the cost include admission to the zoo for the day?
Just checking… I am assuming that dress slacks and a blouse are also acceptable for women, yes?
Hi Crystle, yes dress slacks and blouse would definately be appropriate for a woman.
Hi Ben,
This does not include daytime admission. The Zoo closes to the public at 4pm during the day, this is a private evening event starting at 6pm.
Does this price include drinks? Open bar?
Hi Max,
Yes it is an open bar. There will be beer, wine, and signature drinks.
I’m assuming when you say adults, you mean over 21?
Hi Victoria,
There will be alcohol served and adult topics, so this is a strictly a 21 and over event.
I’m attending and think that its very romantic to know other species find love.
Wow…I just heard Jay Leno jtalking about this on the Tonight Show and had to check to see if it was legit. Since we already have 3 preschoolers, I think my husband and I will pass on the mating rituals dinner…but it looks like quite an event.
This sounds really great! Does the price include alcoholic beverages or is that separate?
It is included! :)
Is this a sit down dinner, or buffet style? We reserved our seats and the menu sounds amazing. I hope I can try each dish.
Hi Kristen,
Yes this is a sit-down service. Guests can enjoy all of the items listed.
Ah, I wish this was any other day. Sounds like a memorable experience.
We would love to go to this but $75/pp is out of our price range for date night, even a special date night for Valentine’s Day! To all who go, have a drink for me! :)
Please tell me there will be no snakes visiting this event?
No Jennifer, there will not be any snakes at this event.
I was wondering if you get to see any animals?
Hi Jamie,
Yes we will have some small animals during cocktail hour for up close interaction, and the dinner and presentation is in our Water’s Edge site with our polar bears, sea otters, and sand tiger sharks.
I was wondering if there was dancing or anything after dinner? I see that it starts at 6, how late will it be?
Hi Tracy,
This is not traditionally a dancing after event, but guests would be welcome to if they like. The event ends at 9pm. There will be a cocktail period at the beginning, followed by dinner, the presentation, and dessert.
My husband and I are planning on going with another couple. Do we need to buy our tickets together to sit together, or can we purchase separate and still sit together?
Hi Allyson,
If you register as one group then yes you would automatically be seated together, so it is probably easiest to go that route. However if you do not register together, please let us know that you have a seating request in advance of the event.
If I bought tickets for this event, and can no longer go, am I able to resell them?
Hi Kevin,
Could you please e-mail me directly, and I can assit you?

Wondering if the seating is large tables or deuces…in other words, will I have to share my date??
“Yes we will have some small animals during cocktail hour for up close interaction, and the dinner and presentation is in our Water’s Edge site with our polar bears, sea otters, and sand tiger sharks.”
Could you expand a little more on the small-animal interactions that will be occurring during the cocktail hour? What kind of animals will be there, and how much interaction is involved? Would we be able to pet animals, and get pictures with them?
Hi Sarah,
Yes you would be able to pet the animals and take photos with them. They are smaller non-dangerous animals such as chinchilla, opossum, owl, and blue-tongue skink.
Are couples seated with others or alone??
in order to accomodate all of the guests, couple are seated at a table with other guests as well.
No tickets left for either night???
Hi Francis,
Yes both dates have sold out, but please consider coming next year.
This was a fantastic event, informative and fun. We saw a photographer at the event and are curious if the photos will be available to view?
hi karla,
i am so glad that you enjoyed it. we did have someone on Saturday taking photos that we were going to use for future promotions of the event (sometimes a photo is easier to use when explaining an event, or atmosphere). i will have her upload those photos to our blog page here next week so that you can enjoy them as well.
Anyone have 6 extra tickets?
