Our trio of Amur tiger cubs are getting bigger and braver. Now five weeks old, the cubs are spending more time outside of their nesting box and have begun exploring their den. Though their steps are still wobbly, the tiny tigers are curious and feisty, and get more active each day. Zoo photographer Paul Selvaggio spent some time with them yesterday and captured these images. (All photos are ©2010 Paul A. Selvaggio)

These pictures are great! When will the public get their first look at the cubs?
We’re not sure yet, but we’ll let you know!
Thank you for sharing these pictures. These little cubs are precious! You all do such wonderful work to share the beauty of these animals with Pittsburgh and the world. Keep up the fantastic work!

It’s great to see them all and to see that she is taking such good care of them and not rejecting them! Keep it up Pittsburgh Zoo, you guys and gals rock!!!! :D
This is absolutely wonderful. My sons and I just completed a Unit Study on Tigers and learned so much about the different species that are still alive. We also learned how that there are 3 subspecies that are now extinct. I am so glad that these cubs are here!

They are beautiful!! Do you have names/nick-names picked out for them yet?
Paul, great pics of the little ones. I love all animals, big and small, well almost all. I think we may of gone to the same hi school. Glad to see you are the zoo’s photographer.
My children are all grown and I don’t go to the zoo as much as I did when they were small children. Last year my daughter took me to the zoo on Mother’s Day and we spent over 7 hours in total amazement of the grandure and splender and magnificance of these beautiful animals. I enjoyed it so much we are going to make it yearly thing. Kudos to all of the people at the Pittsburgh Zoo that take care of, feed and nuture these gifts from heaven. Thank you!

These pictures are awesome! Thanks for sharing. These animals are truely amazing and gorgeous. They are my favorite animal. I wish I was able to work and play with them. I would love to bring my kids to see them!
Sarah and I are doing a project for a class about your tiger cubs… we want to help people become aware of the poaching problems around the world and help people realize the danger that tigers face. I was wondering if you could post many pictures, videos of them just chilling in their den, playing with each other, them eating, etc. Then more people will know about the tigers.
My parter Isabella and I are doing a project on researching the three tiger cubs and we were wondering if the zoo was going to regularly post video updates on how the cubs are doing.
We would love to see them, but unfortunately, we live in Austin, TX. Do you have any experts that we could call about the cubs?
Our project is mainly based on how we hope to raise awareness about the poaching problems around the world. We also hope to tell people about the tiger cubs born in the zoo.
